The Wind That Shakes the Barley
Hi!
Today I’m going to talk/write
about the film “The Wind That Shakes the Barley”, is a war drama film and was
directed by Ken Loach. This film was performing for the first time Cannes Film
Festival 2006. The movie won Palme d'Or that same year.
I liked the movie. Aesthetically
it is very nice, but it was difficult to understand, maybe because I arrived a
little late to see it. This movie is very long and maybe it could bore someone.
I liked the characters and the atmosphere very much.
My favorite scene was a soldier
freed them, saying that he could not carry that in his conscience. I liked
seeing how the soldier didn’t forget his humanity. He was brave. Also I “liked”
(was SO sad) when one of the brothers is tortured and then taken to the other
prisoners, there was his brother. His brother cried and told him that he was
the best person he had ever metL.
My favorite character was Damien
O'Donovan. He’s consistent and brave. I really liked that character. Sincerely, the end I didn’t like because it
was very sad. Damien was a brave man until the last moment. Also, I found it
very strong that the brother led the platoon that killed Damien. I really liked
the setting of the movie; its colors are very beautiful.
Bye.
